We are observers of the world: our environment, society, people, animals, plants. We find problems and seek resolutions. We examine uprising questions concerning awareness, sustainability, and responsible thinking - and aim at dealing with them together with others. We create, plan, repair, and try to recycle all kinds of junk surrounding us into usable stuff. We organize exhibits, we teach, we plant flowers...
On the art programs of the Cellux Group we think together with kids and adults about important questions of the world surrounding us. Our raw material is domestic and urban garbage, and our tool is recycling. Spreading the word for environmental awareness is our primary goal. Among the group members there are artists and applied artist, psychologists, pedagogists, sociologists, as well as gardeners. The mixture of their personal approaches gives the base to our workshops: we are dealing with environmental problems using the tools and language of art.
This kind of creative work is highly suggestive, since the experience of creating something new gives value to garbage. This is the first step towards the ability to be responsible for the future of the materials we use. We can start from scratch, from a thought, a conversation, a story, a fantasy world, as well as a global, social or environmental problem, even an object. The goal is creativity, acceptance, ecological awareness, actuality, while creating together. You'll find us on Friday and Saturday during the festival, further details will be announced later.
