Onlyland, performance by the Forum Theatre, 120 mins
"János receives an official post mail from the government on the 264. day of the year. It has serious consequences. He finds himself involved in the mazes of bureaucracy and power, and faces to loose his home. He does not speak the language and gets losst in Onlyland, and it is only you who could help him find his way out. Right for a place to reside, bureaucrats, relatives, shoes and play. What would you do in the place of János?"

The KÖ-SZI Community Theatre presents their first forum-theatre performance, which is built on Augusto Boal's method of the Theatre of the Suppressed Ones.

The group was formed in the autumn of 2010. Among the members are drama pedagogists, actors, rikshaw drivers, singers, social workers, psychologists, public defenders and ecologists. The group was formed to present the recent problems of society through the widely known and used methods of the Theatre of the Suppressed Ones, using the language of the Forum Theatre. In our interpretation, theatre is but a pedagogical tool and a means of active social discourse, where audience may become participants as well. We are not professional actors, thus we are not expecting a professional performance from our audiences either. We would much rather like to see them try out themselves in situations which are challenging for them, which urge them to act, and which help them experience certain situations from others' perspectives. We would like to see people experience how their thoughts give birth to actions, how they become liberated from anchored mechanisms. If members of the audience, as the protagonists of an imaginary story, try to change their own futile situations and
are successful in it within the imaginary world of the play, the experience may later serve as a model for taking action, facilitating
them to take initiative and lead their own lives.
"Being a citizen does not only mean to live in a society. It also means changing that society"
(Augusto Boal, creater of the Theatre of the Suppressed Ones)

6th August, Saturday, at unexpected times and places

During the festival, the KÖ-SZI Community Theatre Group will perform invisible theatrical scenes at different spots of the festival,
inviting all participants to a discourse about several questions of society - without letting them recognize they are involved in a
theatrical performance.
